Welcome!

Branston Junior School is a Community Junior School for 7 – 11 year olds. We are located in the village of Branston, 4 miles south east of the cathedral city of Lincoln.

Branston Junior School was originally a Primary School – opening in 1970, to serve the communities of Branston, Branston Booths and East Mere. Children transfer to Branston Junior School from the infant school at age 7+ and are educated at Key Stage 2 (7-11 year olds). They normally move to Branston Community College at 11 years of age.

Branston Junior School is a caring and friendly village school which welcomes children for admission in the September following their seventh birthday. The school is set in spacious grounds which include two playgrounds, an adventure playground and an environmental area. The children have ready access to a wide range of learning materials in their classrooms and there are several spaces within the school where small groups of children can work with support staff or carry out independent learning activities, including the use of the school’s extensive computer facilities.

The school has an ‘open-door’ policy as parents and members of the community are encouraged to participate in all aspects of school life such as helping in the classrooms, accompanying school outings and attending sports and social events.

The ‘Friends of Branston Junior School’ organise a number of social events throughout the school year, raising considerable funds and enhancing the communal life of the school.

We recently won an award at the 2011 LAFATs and 2 awards at the LAFTA awards 2010. Well done to the school!
